Animals\' Angels - wir sind bei den Tieren | we are there with the animals

During 2008, our teams accomplished 337 missions for the animals.

This means that every day several people were with the animals on behalf of Animals’ Angels. They were with the animals – in ports, at loading stations, on the roads and in slaughterhouses. They were where nobody else wanted to be.

Countries of action were: Poland, Italy, Spain, USA, Canada, Romania, Slovenia, Germany, Australia, France, Russia, Belgium, The Netherlands, Portugal, Mexico, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, Switzerland and Turkey.

Our teams travelled 190,167 kilometres in this year, not including flight miles.

We carried out 367 inspections.

We organised 19 police training courses in six countries, imparting knowledge about animal transports to 600 participants and performing inspections together with the police.

Our employees in Poland attended to the teeth of 14 horses. Now the animals can properly chew and better digest their food again. Thus they are better nourished to do the hard work in the fields and to pull heavy carts. Our team replaced bicycle chains and sharp-edged iron-rods that were being used as mouthpieces with more than 30 good bits, which has also made work much easier for the horses. Bogdan our farrier treated the hooves of 337 “work” and “slaughter” horses as well as the hooves of 24 cows.
