"We are with the animals". That is our motto. Our work is based on the principle that we only confirm what we have seen with our own eyes. For this reason the information we provide is considered reliable, accurate and trustworthy. The teams carry out on-site investigations of slaughterhouses, ports, supply stations, border control stations and livestock markets and are on the road all across Europe, trailing animal transport trucks. The results of our campaigns are documented in reports, photos and video footage and are passed on to the relevant authorities in order to submit complaints or grievances, file charges or implement further measures. Animals’ Angels cooperate with animal welfare organisations worldwide and are in constant contact with veterinary authorities and the police.
The professionalism of the Animals' Angels teams has, within a short time, earned us great respect – not only with veterinarians and police officers, but also with the drivers of animal transport trucks and forwarding agents. The Animals' Angels organisation submits solidly researched facts that the competent committees cannot ignore. By specialising in one specific area, we can maintain focus and prevent getting bogged down. We see ourselves as specialists supplying information and basic data that the authorities and other organisations can use to take further measures or organise publicity campaigns.
The work that the Animals' Angels teams carry out every day is very challenging. It requires a profound knowledge of languages, the correct handling of sophisticated technical equipment, a basic knowledge of legal principles and concepts and an efficient approach to office organisation. The teams must also have an understanding and sensitivity for people and possess detailed knowledge of the needs of the animals on the transport trucks. Animals' Angels invest in professional coaching and state-of-the art technology in order to further improve the working methods of the teams, thus enabling us to use our physical and mental energy more efficiently and to make the best use of the donations we receive. The difficult experiences that our employees face every day are discussed in the coaching sessions and assimilated into the work of the teams.
The media shows great interest in the work of Animals' Angels e.V. In such cases, where the type of action or campaign permits the presence of the media and where the media contact is reliable, we greatly appreciate the cooperation of the journalists. We have also noticed that more and more journalists have become sensitive to the issue of "animal transports" and that reporting on such matters and informing the public is part of their journalistic ethics. We deliberately reject spectacularly produced scenes in order not to jeopardise the overall concept of our work.
