01.07.2016 | Large Scale Investigation at the Bulgarian-Turkish Border

Waiting at the Bulgarian-Turkish border, Animals‘ Angels inspects animal transports going from EU to Turkey.

The temperatures are extremely high – up to 34 °C – and the animals are severly suffering. Franziska, a calf from Slovakia, did not survive the journey. The Polish truck carrying her to Turkey has been waiting at the border for two days under sweltering heat.

At the customs point in Catalca, there are waiting many extremely dirty trucks with animals from Czech and Austria standing in their own excrements. As the customs authority does no work on Sunday, Animals’ Angels tries to push through that the animals are fed and dispatched as fast as possible.
