Animals’ Angels is in Hungary to check poultry transports. It’s morning when the team spots a truck bouncing on a very uneven road, driving to a slaughterhouse. Geese are loaded in cages. One goose, Ira, has its leg injured and the wound is bleeding. Fresh blood is on the floor. The animals are crouching but nevertheless they are touching the roof of the cages with their heads. Due to the insufficient height of the cages and the bad state of the roads the birds must have hit their heads violently throughout the journey. Also in case of injury or illness, none of them could have been separated and looked after. The cages have their openings on the top and they are stacked one above the other. Therefore, the animals are totally locked inside the cages during the entire transport, there is no access to them. Animals’ Angels will file an official complaint to the competent authorities in Hungary.
