Animals’ Angels inspects the weekly animal market in Chaves in North-Eastern Portugal.  During the first inspection in 2011, the Animals’ Angels Team found that the ground of the market area was extremely slippery and thus posed a high risk of injury to the animals.  For this reason Animals’ Angels filed a complaint with the market operator and the local veterinary office.  By now the condition of the ground has been improved, the construction works have almost been completed.  Animals’ Angels observes the cow Francisca; she is limping severely and cannot tread on one of her hind legs.  Francisca is going to be transported to a slaughterhouse which is 120 km away.  Animals’ Angels can only achieve that she will be put down there immediately.  Animals’ Angels will continue to observe this market in the future.
