The team of Viva! Interwencje, on behalf of Animals' Angels, investigates a horse market in Pajęczno. The market is big, with approximately 500 horses, transported from distant regions and departing even to foreign countries, like Germany.
The horses are stressed, sweating, fighting each other. The peak temperature reaches 25ºC and the team does not witness any single case of watering an animal, even though all of them are kept in plain sun.
The veterinary service personnel conducts many competent interventions, including the use of force to stop an aggressive farmer from whipping a horse. However, the general attitude of the crowd of drunken farmers cannot be changed by a handful of inspectors, no matter how professional they are.
The market operator will be notified of the observed violations and legal steps will be taken in the cases of animal abuse.
