In response to a dramatic call, Viva! Interwencje, on behalf of Animals’ Angels, inspects a stable where 2 horses and a pony are kept. The stabling conditions are horrific.
The layer of manure is almost knee deep. All of the animals have severe hoof disorders as they have not been trimmed for a long time. The oldest mare, Kasia, is also suffering from a large untreated leg wound which is probably a cancer. The pony, Bobi, has a muscle contraction in his legs due to insufficient hoof trimming. Both horses are extremely thin and dirty.
The team learns that the poor conditions are the result of a conflict between husband and wife due to which the responsibility for the horses is handed back and forth. The team decides to claim all animals and subject them to immediate treatment. The loading process for Kasia alone takes more than an hour as she can’t stand on her ill leg.
Despite the owner’s cooperation during the entire intervention steps for prosecution will be taken because the level of neglection of the animals is outrageous.
