In the night from July 11th to July 12th Animals’ Angels spots two trucks with poultry. One of them is transporting chickens and the head of a chicken is hanging out of his cage. We are not able to check on the animals because the driver does not take a rest during our pursuit and turns onto the grounds of a slaughterhouse after a short time. We will ask the competent authorities for more information and send a complaint to the official veterinarians.
After a while we follow a second truck transporting poultry. The temperature is 29° at the beginning of the trailing. As the trucks stops it appears that the birds are very stressed. They do not move and stay crouched with closed eyes and their heads bent down. We call the Italian police but unfortunately the truck leaves the highway before they are able to check on it. We will ask the official veterinarian about the condition of the animals at their arrival at the slaughterhouse.
