12.10.2014 | Zyclon Hudhud Hits India's Eastern Shore

At October 12th, with gusts up to 200km per hour, Zyclon Hudhud made landfall on India’s eastern shores.

Also affected is our partner on site, the VSCPA in Vishakhapatnam. In both shelters trees have been uprooted and roofs torn off. Many VSPCA employees are affected personally with their house being destroyed or access roads blocked. Communication is difficult due to power grid malfunction.

The VSCPA team already started clean-up operations. Our colleague Sri Devi will resume her work for the animals on Thursday.

We try to help the VSPCA in any way we can. Our thoughts are with the many suffering animals and humans hit by Hudhud.
