Our Animals' Angels team of the local organisation Taweso again visits Pugu cattle market. Approximately 600 cattle are for sale today.

Our team observes that the water troughs which are provided by the market administration are mostly ignored. We talk to the traders and transport drivers. By giving them our info leaflet we try to draw their attention on the fact that their animals are thirsty and exhausted after these long hours of transport. Some of them follow our request by bringing their animals to the troughs.

During the loading procedures, we notice that the heavy sticks which have previously been used to cudgel the animals into the vehicles have disappeared. The market users now use slim sticklets for herding and loading their animals. Hence, loading have become much quieter.
