Animals’ Angels visits the annual cattle sale at Omeo. The mostly Angus and Hereford weaner steers have been mustered from around the mountains (alpine country/hill country) using horses, and over a short period of time walked to the Omeo saleyard facility. We did not observe animals which were unfit for sale or transport. The majority of the animals were wild having little to no human contact and as a consequence were easily frightened and nervous; those handling them appeared mindful of this fact. The handling was quiet.

The yard was clean and in good repair. Water was available and the floor was non slip.  Although the facility is not under cover, it is however in a very sheltered position.
