Animals’ Angels submits a complaint file to the EU Commission concerning systematic breaches of EU legislation on the protection of animals at weekly animal markets in Romania.
On more than 200 pages we describe the cruelty perpetrated to animals and the archaic conditions in which they are transported and kept at gatherings in Romania. The document furthermore includes our dense correspondence with the Romanian authorities.
We expect the Commission to examine the ample material we collected during investigations, to carry out its own investigations and inquiries and to take effective measures to bring Romania within the limits of animal protection legislation.
In the meanwhile, Animals’ Angels will continue to report its findings to the Romanian authorities.
