ANIMALS’ ANGELS are at the port for the second and day to observe the transport and handling of 6000 sheep and 70 or so cattle as they are bought in 8 trucks for loading onto the Al Shuwaikh.Animals with sharp uncut horns, possible eye infections are quite obviously present and insufficient room for the sheep to stand naturally is always an issue. Over density within some trucks especially the last one to arrive in which a ram had his leg caught in the curl of another ram, and several rams had fallen on other sheep caused great concern.AQIS were not at the port nor available but the State regulator arrived and we directed the inspector to the truck to check on the animals.
