ANIMALS’ ANGELS visits Camperdown Regional Livestock Selling Centre where approx 400 cattle are for sale. The yard has installed rubber matting in a number of pens which helps reduce the incidence of sore feet in cattle. However the drainage appears to be either non existent or not effective because the floor in many sale pens are covered in faeces. We observe for sale a number of cows with broken horns which can be very painful. The animals are sold and transported which is in our view a potential breach of the new Land Transport Standards and Guidelines.
