ANIMALS’ ANGELS visits Casterton Saleyard for the stud sheep sale. 800 animals are for sale in a small yard that has been maintained well.

The yard is quiet and the handling calm; we do not observe the use of dogs or electrical shock prodders on animals. All selling pens including sheep have water, the cattle pens have a water sprinkler to keep the animals cool in summer and there is hay available should some animals remain at the yards for some time. There is rubber flooring on the ramps which are fully adjustable. They are not steep and allow for good flow.
