Animals' Angels represents the International Coalition for Animal Welfare (ICFAW) — a network of international animal protection organizations whose primary goals are the prevention of animal cruelty and the alleviation of animal suffering — at the 18th Conference of the Regional Commission for the Middle East of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) in Larnaca, Cyprus. We are especially pleased to be giving a presentation on animal welfare and highlighting ICFAW’s work in the region. This is a significant milestone, as it is the first time that animal welfare has been included in the agenda of this biennial Middle East conference. The participating countries are increasingly showing interest in this topic, and once again we are offering ICFAW’s support and collaboration in various areas of animal protection. During this year’s poster session, we will also draw attention to animal welfare in transport and the associated efforts to combat the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
