Together with the German police, Animals‘ Angels inspects two transports with calves. The just a few weeks old animals are transported from Lithuania through Poland and Germany to the Netherlands. Even though required by law it is technically impossible to provide the calves with milk during the long distance. One driver has not extended the vehicles’ roof during the 19 hours journey so that animals in the top tier are forced to lie down until Animals’ Angels and the authorities intervene.
The other vehicle inspected is completely closed so animals inside are transported in absolute darkness and they are provided with air through a ventilator. Animals’ Angels is going to deal with the animal welfare issues raised by that vehicle. Due to all law violations discovered the authorities impose a fine. Animals’ Angels gives thanks to the German police for the good cooperation.
