Again this Saturday, Animals‘ Angels is there with the animals at Mers El Kheir market. Especially today, on the last day of sale before Aid El Kebir, the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice, the market is very busy with considerably more sheep for sale than usual for all the families coming to buy sacrificial lambs.
According to ritual rites, it is a family’s duty to treat well their animals until death. But this obligation is already disregarded when transporting the animals home, as most of the lambs are transported with their legs shackled inside a car’s trunk.
At least, the Animals’ Angels team is able to provide the animals with feed and water.
