Animals' Angels is operating in France in the early afternoon when our team spots a transport of horses. The truck goes to Italy. The horses are transported in groups. The police is promptly alerted and stops the truck at the height of Aosta. The horses cannot continue the journey therefore they are escorted by a patrol to the closest control post in Torino. There the animals are offloaded for being fed, watered and made rest and the transporter/driver is fined for irregularities. A truck can transport more horses without individual stalls (which would separate them one by one) that’s why some transporters still do not respect the law even if fines are expensive. Animals' Angels will continue to cooperate with the Italian and French authorities to monitor the traffic of animals at the border, to prevent breaches of this type.
