Animals‘ Angels is at the market in Marginea not far from the Ukrainian border. Mainly cattle, pigs and birds next to potatoes, carrots, clothes and house wares are sold at the weekly market.

The transport vehicles used are far from conform with European standards. They do not even have ramps to load the animals. The team observes how Luna, an old cow, is forced brutally to enter a closed mini van.

Many of the goods are transported on horse carts. The horses are strong and look well-fed but their hooves are mostly in poor condition: overgrown, partially broken, missing or unsuitable horseshoes. According to information received the market has no official permission for selling animals which is why there are no veterinarian inspections.

Animals’ Angels will file a complaint to the Romanian Ministry.
