ANIMALS’ ANGELS observe and document the transport of approx 2700 sheep to the vessel MV Bader for live animal export. These animals will be slaughtered without pre-stunning. Possible eye infections were documented along with incidents of sheep standing on sheep and legs outside of the rails which tend to indicate higher than acceptable density. AQIS arrived at the port and stayed for a short period. No state animal welfare compliance member was present. Who was ensuring compliance to welfare legislation and regulations therefore looking after the animals?
