22.11.2014 | Inspection of Cattle Husbandry

The team of Viva! Interwencje, on behalf of Animals' Angels, in response to a dramatic phonecall, inspects a farm where several cows are reported to be extremely neglected.

At the spot, the team finds six cows locked in a barn without access to water, insufficient daylight, standing on a thick layer of manure. The team has to sneak inside as the owner has locked the barn door with a padlock.

The owner insults the inspectors and refuses to give any explanation. The team learns from the neighbors that the cows are not fed regularly despite sufficient amount of crops and hay piled up in the same building.

The owner is also said to be keeping his own family from feeding the cows. Additionally, only one of the cows is eartagged, which means that the animals are maintained and bred without veterinary supervision. The team notifies the police, local veterinary service, and submits a notion to the local city council, imploring the authority to confiscate the animals.
