ANIMALS’ ANGELS visits Bawbaw Livestock Exchange which is also known as Warragul Saleyard for the cattle sale. 300 animals are for sale in a yard that can take more animals. The facility is under cover and the animal handling is quiet because there are no dogs however electric shock prodders are used. The density of some pens means the cattle have no room to move. The tight penning is unnecessary due to the availability of pens to use. This may indicate that overcrowding of pens is habitual by some staff. No visible signage regarding dogs, muzzles, fit/unfit animals or other animal welfare requirements.
