Animals’ Angels is on the highway when spotting two empty trucks, with cages for poultry. After some hours the trucks are coming back at different times, they are both loaded with laying hens. The team follows the second truck on its way to the slaughterhouse. It arrives after one hour at the slaughterhouse, at 20:20, and there are already some other cages filled with hens near the ventilators, waiting to be slaughtered the next morning. There are 19,5 degrees C. The height of the cages is not sufficient to allow the hens to stand up naturally, so they crouch down on their breast. Animals’ Angels will investigate more into the waiting time of poultry inside of cages where they cannot move naturally and cannot drink, waiting for hours and hours before they are slaughtered.
