Animals’ Angels attend the yard today where over 9.000 sheep are for sale. Although it is 39°C outside, under the cover of the yard it is approximately 27°C. The sheep are calm and it is quiet.

We observe a number of pens with arguable density level; one pen in particular holds so many animals they cannot move and another with rams whose hooves had not been trimmed.

The saleyard has removed approximately 23 sheep and penned them separately from the others. These sheep presented with cancers in their ears, eyes, vulva’s, and nose. One sheep is unable to bear weight on his right front foot and another has a severe eye infection. The yard shot nine while we were there.

We will submit complaints to the relevant authority about the condition of the sheep which were the responsibility of the farmers who owned the animals.
