From May 26 to 29, in Trouville sur Mer, France, the Italian public health institution of IZSAM Teramo carried out the first edition of the training course on "animal welfare during transport".

More than 50 veterinarians from 30 EU Member States came to attend the course. Delegates of the Food and Veterinary Office of the EU Commission, experts and spokespersons of international organisations gave their contribution to theoretical and practical lessons, workshops and discussions.

With its 17 years of experience in the field, Animals’ Angels took part in the plenary discussion explaining its point of view on long distance transports, trailing trucks and being there with the animals. Animals’ Angels restated that the enforcement of Regulation 1/2005 is practically a myth. Animal distress during long transports is ineradicable in reality. A fact that we have been witness to for many years.
