30.03.2016 | Inspection of Nakkapalli Cattle Market

Animals' Angels, together with the Indian VSPCA-team, inspects Nakkapalli cattle market. It is very quiet today; there are only a few cattle for sale.

Three buffalo cows and three calves are loaded onto a small transport vehicle going to a nearby slaughterhouse. The animals are loaded so densely that they cannot even raise their heads – we intervene.

The driver sends for a second vehicle and reloads half of the animals to it. There is police and a veterinarian at the market. We point out to them their obligation to intervene in cases of overloaded transports at the market.

Nakkapalli cattle market is one of 32 markets which are to be modernized by the government during 2016.
