Animals‘ Animals inspects animal transports arriving at the border between Bulgaria and Turkey. Inside one of the trucks there are two new-born calves. The heavily pregnant young cows were loaded in Estonia on June 22 and gave birth on the route between Romania and Turkey. For the time being, Christine and Sabine of Animals’ Angels follow them until Ankara customs.
Our teams have their hands full – rarely before have there been so many trucks at the border like today. A Bulgarian border-veterinarian calls it an ‘apocalypse’ and a ‘truck-tsunami’.
