Animal Transports at Easter: No Inspection of the Animals at the EU Border from Greece to Albania

Around the Orthodox Easter Animals' Angels is in Greece. We are at the border with Albania. A few years ago, we documented that animal transports can pass the external EU border here practically without control - and wrote a corresponding complaint to the EU authorities.

Unfortunately the problem continues: Greek veterinarians still do not check the condition of the animals when they cross the border. We observe and document a transport with cattle. The animals are squeezed into a dirty truck without bedding. The pigs in another transport have no ear tags - so they cannot even be identified.

We learn from the authorities that the investigation into the problems at this border is still ongoing. We provide it with further evidence that something urgently needs to be done here. The authorities must not lose any more time to stop the suffering of the animals at the border to Albania!
