‘It's much too cramped. I want to get out of here.’ The young people at the Sindlingen Children's and Youth Centre try out our transport box. They climb a steep ramp into the narrow box, surrounded by high walls and with hardly any opportunity to see outside. After just a short time, they want to exit again. The idea of being stuck in there for hours or even days, with inadequate care and too few breaks, frightens them.
We are spending an evening at the Sindlingen Children's and Youth Centre, offering young people the opportunity to learn about animal transport and to engage with the topic of animal welfare for ‘farm’ animals. The topic is new to the young people. We are very pleased about their interest and their courage to engage with the topic and to try out the transport box. They are particularly concerned by our information about the current transport conditions and routes.
A big thank you to the centre's director Christina Göhre and her team for the invitation and their great support. We are looking forward to coming back!
