Animals‘ Angels visit the yard to oberserves the arrival and drafting of sheep on the day before sale day.
There are approximately 3500 sheep already penned in sale pens for tomorrow when a total of approximately 7000 sheep are expected for the sale on Tuesday. There are several sale pens in which the sheep are unable to lay down for the night. Transportation and handling is a known stressor and we are of the view that being unable to lie down would cause exhaustion and additional stress. This will be reflected in our report.
Handling was acceptable.
