Animals' Angels today sent the fourth comprehensive report on the catastrophic animal welfare situation at Bulgarian animal markets to the responsible authorities. For years we have been calling on them to finally fulfil their responsibilities and stop cruelty to animals at the markets and to comply with EU animal welfare laws. To this day, nothing has happened, as our latest mission in March 2018 showed.
Bulgaria currently holds the EU Council Presidency. That is why we have today informed all 28 EU agriculture ministers about the unacceptable situation in order to further increase the pressure on the Bulgarian authorities.
