India: Inspecting Thummapala Animal Market

Our Indian team inspects Thummapala cattle market where hundreds of calves and young cattle are being offered for sale. Additionally, pigs are being slaughtered directly at the market. The ground is littered with plastic waste and at the edge of the premise there are piles of rubbish. The animals receive neither food, nor water. Many are of them tethered very shortly. Sridevi looses some of the ropes so they can lie down at least.

No regulatory authority is present to discuss the existing problems. Hence, our team documents all violations and afterwards contacts the market committee, the competent veterinarian and the police.
