It’s a hot day. At almost 40 °C, Animals‘ Angels inspects Yellimanchilli market, together with the VSCPA team and competent officials of the Animal Husbandry Department. Buffalos, pigs and chickens are for sale. Especially the pigs and chickens suffer from the high temperatures. We give the animals water to at least alleviate their suffering a bit.
Sridevi of VSPCA educates the market visitors and transport drivers about animal transport regulation. The fundamental problems here – like the tied-up legs of pigs and chickens, missing infrastructure, etc. – are discussed in detail with the attending officials. They arrange another appointment with the VSPCA and the market committee to discuss possible solutions. We will monitor the process.
