Italy: After Police Control – More Than 8.000 € Fine for Lamb Transport From Romania

Sheep on Transport From Romania to Italy

More than 8.000 Euro fine for an animal transport with lambs from Romania. This is the result of a police check we recently requested in Italy.

We follow the transport in northern Italy. More than 500 animals are on board, loaded on four levels. The lambs stand closely together, some lie on top of each other. The truck is filthy with their excrements. Lamb Angehla is already dead. She was probably trampled to death by the other lambs in the confinement.

We call the police, who control the transport near Florence. The officers find more violations: No bedding, no food on board, and discrepancies with the accompanying documents. In total they issue a fine of 8,333 euros.
