Colombia: Taking Part in Virtual Lecture of Santander University

University Santander

In Colombia, Animals' Angels takes part in a virtual lecture of the University of Santander. The lecture "New Law of Animal Protection: The State and Sentient Beings" is organized by the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the Observatory against Animal Abuse.

During the panel discussion with Fabián Díaz, the representative of the Chamber of Santander, Carlos Muñoz (lawyer and bioethicist) and Diana (our collaborator in Colombia) talk about the different challenges of animal protection in Colombia. We talk about our work at animal markets and the lack of protection of 'farm' animals in Colombia. We talk about the challenges involved with the rural population and the transport companies and authorities.

We hope that we were able to awaken in the students the desire to question and change the violence in dealing with 'farm' animals in Colombia.
