Animals' Angels attends "The Legislator and Farm Animals" conference organised by IFTJ and Welfarm in Paris. Participants include members of parliament, academics, industry representatives, lawyers and animal welfare organisations.
Many issues relating to the inadequacies of French and European legislation on the protection of farm animals - including during transport - will be discussed. Our relationship with animals will also be scrutinised from a political, legal and philosophical point of view. Even if we think that many of the answers are still too weak and nuanced, we are pleased to see the growing interest of institutions in the protection of farm animals and the commitment of all the speakers who spoke out in favour of animals. We would like to thank the organisers - the Federal Institute for the Study of Transitions (IFTJ) and the Welfarm association - for this interesting day of exchange, which has helped to promote a more compassionate approach to animals among the various stakeholders.
