Poland: Farm Inspection

The team of Viva! Interwencje, in response to a dramatic phone call, sets out to inspect a farm in the county of Kazimierza Wielka, southern Poland. The maintenance conditions of the animals are horrific. Several calves have nasal discharge, a pony has terribly overgrown hooves, and one of the dogs shows symptoms of serious skin disorder. There are cattle bones and a skull scattered around the premise.

As it turns out, the farm owner runs an animal trade business. He buys animals from farmers and then sells them on to slaughterhouses.

The team notifies the local veterinary service and local authorities of the situation. The institutions are obliged by law to take proper steps, and the Viva team will see to it. The case is also subject to prosecution.
