‚Better Training, Safer Food’ is an initiative of the European Commission, covering among other animal welfare laws. The aim is to provide knowledge and training to the authorities in charge to implement the controls provided by Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004.
The General Directorate for Health and Food Safety chose the italian institute IZSAM Teramo to organise a basic course concerning ‚Animal protection during transport’. The course took place in Poznan, Poland, where a control post was visited by the participants to deepen the rules concerning the mandatory rest for animals during long distance transports.
Animals´ Angels was invited to talk about animal transports from its perspective, as an NGO advocating for the protection of farm animals.
