Poland: Horse Market Inspection in Pajeczno

The team of Viva! Interwencje, on behalf of Animals’ Angels, inspects the horse market in Pajęczno.

Rain and low temperatures make the market smaller and shorter than usually. However, the behavior of the market users hasn't changed much. The market place is full of scattered empty bottles of vodka and the loading of the horses, especially at the end of the market gets more violent and chaotic.

The team observes a city council employee watching a violent loading of a horse up a steep ramp. The operation takes very long time and it becomes clear that the farmers have no experience in handling horses, as they keep pushing and dragging the horse around without having any plan. The city council official does not even advise the farmers to take the truck to the concrete ramp, not to mention any intervention concerning their violent behavior.

The weather makes the market less of an ordeal for the horses, but still no watering is seen despite some of the trucks have passed the gates in the middle of the night.

The mayor of Pajęczno will be notified of the observed violations.
