Successful Complaint: Romanian Transport Company Loses Authorisation for Animal Transport

Sheep in Transport in Greece

This summer, we documented how thousands of sheep and lambs on the route between Romania and Greece had to suffer from heat and confinement during transport. Mostly the same companies were involved in these transports. After our investigation, we filed a comprehensive complaint against them – with success. One of these transporters now has had its authorisation for transporting animals suspended.

We would like to thank the competent authorities for this proactive measure. Hopefully it will also deter other transporters and motivate them to at least comply with the minimum legal requirements for animal transport.
