Our documentary Forty Days Road about the suffering of camels during transport was screened at the Independent Days International Film Festival in Karlsruhe – the final festival of our festival journey. Around 40–50 people attended the screening, and the discussion afterwards showed how deeply the topic moved the audience. Many visitors also took the opportunity to continue talking with us after the official program about the situation of the animals and our work as an NGO.
We were especially pleased that the film became a topic of conversation throughout the festival, even beyond the screening itself. Thanks to our QR code cards, interested visitors were able to easily access the documentary and learn more about our work. A special highlight was the award ceremony: our film received the “Best Work Award” from the PresseClub Karlsruhe. The jury recognized both our investigative work and our commitment to animals during transport. With the festival in Karlsruhe, an intensive and successful festival phase comes to an end: throughout 2025, the documentary was officially selected at 20 festivals and received 8 awards and recognitions worldwide. Through these screenings, we estimate that we reached at least 700 people.
This festival journey showed us once again how powerful documentaries can be in raising awareness, creating empathy, and emotionally engaging people with the suffering of animals. We would like to thank everyone who supported and accompanied this project.
