One day after our joint field trip to the cattle and goat market, we discuss with the students their experiences, their positive observations as well as all the problems they have documented. With the help of their notes, we calculate the allowed loading density of the cattle transports that were loaded at the market yesterday. Our result: In every single transport, there were loaded more than twice as many animals as permitted by law. Conclusively, we discuss solutions and ways to achieve that the traders at the markets comply with animal welfare regulations.
We are very thankful for the warm-hearted welcome at Mabuki College and for three inspirational and exiting days together with the graduating class. We will stay in close contact to the College and make sure our education program will be an integral part in the student’s education.
