Animals’ Angels are invited to present our work to law students who have chosen animal welfare as an elective subject. We want to showcase our work which inludes how the relevant ‘outcome based’ animal welfare legislation is generally insufficient to protect animals and how the lack of enforcement of those laws sends a clear message that farmed animals do not matter despite what government departments claim. There are about 50 students present and they are very engaged in learning more about what happens to farmed animals including the regulatory framework within the transport and saleyard supply chains.
These young people are up and coming lawyers, they may well be in a position later in their careers to push for improvements so to see and hear their interest is inspiring.
