The Animals’ Angels charity hike to raise funds for animals being transported took place from August 8–15, 2026, along the Albschäferweg trail in the Heidenheim Brenz region. Over eight stages, Thomas Rohlfing, Hartmut Stottmeier, Ursula Keßner and Sven Strobel, together with Sabine Häcker and her dog Yogi from the association Hunde für Handicaps e.V., covered a total of 173 km and 2,115 metres of elevation gain.
They were joined on individual stages by supporters and donors of Animals’ Angels. Along the way and via social media, they drew attention to the plight of animals being transported and reported on the work of the organisation. With temperatures of around 30°C, the hikers lived up to the motto and “sweated” for a good cause. We would like to thank all donors for contributions amounting to €37,000 so far, which will directly support our work with animals on site.
