What are the most important aspects of animal welfare during transport? We explored this question in a webinar for veterinarians, veterinary students, and veterinary assistants. The webinar was organized by fortbildung.vet (TVD) as part of their animal welfare week. In addition to the legal basis, the most important animal welfare problems and broader background information on the challenges of animal welfare during transport were discussed. Another important topic was the export of life animals to non-EU countries. We are delighted with the lively participation and keen interest shown, and hope that this will help raise awareness for these important topics.
