Animals’ Angels visit the cattle selling complex in Barnawartha. The facility is new; all selling pens are under cover but the roof doesn’t reach out to cover the loading ramps.
On the day we visited the cattle sale was completed but some cattle remained in holding pens awaiting collection. We observed a small number of cattle were extremely thin. Additionally some sale pens were very muddy because the supply system that sprays water over the wood chips to reduce dust over sprayed and the area became boggy. The management were in the process of clearing out the affected area and replacing the flooring with new chips.
