ANIMALS’ ANGELS observe and document the transport of approx 7200 sheep to the Ocean Shearer for live animal export. These animals will be slaughtered without the ‘luxury’ of pre-stunning- in other words they will suffer the agonising pain of death. A lose sheep is observed; there was a lose sheep yesterday as well. Possible eye infections are a major concern as are some of the shearing cuts. Compliance to the ASEL (export regulations) should prevent animals displaying any eye infection or open cut being transported to the Port, but despite this it appears they are.
