The team of Viva! Interwencje, acting on behalf of Animals' Angels, is called for help by local NGO Towarzystwo Opieki nad Zwierzetami from Piła concerning a truck transporting 15 cows to slaughter having crashed in Lugi Ujskie.

The NGO arrives at the spot shortly after the accident to find some of the injured cows lying around at the roadside and the others running down the busy road. Most of the animals appear very weak and frightened, breathing heavily. The NGO members are however not allowed anywhere near the animals, they are mocked and even assaulted. The veterinarian who arrives later does not even glance at the cows’ condition until he is prompted to by the NGO people. He rules that the cows are fit for further transport, because he does not have enough medications to help the suffering animals by euthanizing them. The vet ignores any suggestions from the NGO, making silly, sexually-biased remarks about the intervening woman. At least the local media that arrived at the spot is very critical towards the veterinarian’s behavior.

According to the local police, the most probable cause for the accident was speeding. Viva! Interwencje will file a crime notification and a complaint to the veterinary chamber.
