28.02.2014 | Poland, Farm Inspection

The team of Viva! Poland on behalf of Animals' Angels assists local authorities and veterinary service in an inspection of a farm.

The farmer who owns 14 cows, 3 calves, 31 sheep, and 2 dogs, has already been flagged by veterinary service for incidents of animal abuse. All animals are kept without constant water access, the calves are tethered despite being too young and 4 of the cows and all sheep are kept in a barn with no daylight. The dogs are chained all the time and their behavior suggests they have been beaten.

The team and the veterinary service initiated a procedure of administrative claim of the animals. The next step is to be taken by the mayor who is about to decide which animals, if not all, will be taken away.
